From telephone to smartphone

The ‘Antwerp as a telecom city’ mini exhibition zooms in on ATEA, an Antwerp telecommunication company from the early days of telephony. For this exhibition set in the MAS Kijkdepot, former employees of ATEA and the ‘MAS in Young Hands' youth work program collaborated on this study of past and present telecom developments.
In this stunning building, the MAS tells a largely untold story about Antwerp in the world. And about the world in Antwerp. But there is more...
At the walls and vitrines, all texts are in Dutch only. But there are various possibilities to obtain the room texts (and even more information) in English when you visit the museum.
Eleven of the sixteen MAS museum cranes, the largest museum collection of port cranes in the world, can be found on the Scheldt quay.
On Thursday evenings, one theme at the MAS can be viewed until 21:00 hrs.
